Ozempic Butt
Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Manhattan and Long Island, NY
Ozempic butt is a condition that causes the skin on the buttocks to sag after weight loss. Ozempic butt treatments have become increasingly popular as more Americans struggle with obesity and undergo medically-assisted weight loss programs with semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound) to improve their health. More than 40% of adults in the United States are obese– the condition affects more than 100 million adults and 14 million children in the country. (1) A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) increases the size of your buttocks for a smoother, curvier look to help you rebalance your proportions.
At New York Surgical Arts, we can help you strategically sculpt your figure with customizable treatments tailored to your aesthetic goals. Dr. Gordan Andan is a board-certified cosmetic surgeon with decades of experience helping patients improve their figures.

About Ozempic Butt
Ozempic butt is an increasingly common condition. After weight changes, your skin can become permanently stretched by excess fat. Droopy pockets of skin can be difficult to clean and chafe uncomfortably against your clothing, especially if it is located on the buttocks or lower abdomen. You may notice that although you lost weight, the excess skin prevents you from fitting back into old clothing or feeling comfortable wearing revealing pieces.
Many patients undergo a BBL to improve their appearance and restore volume to their buttocks for a fuller, firmer look. Surgeons performed more than 29,300 BBLs to help patients improve their bodies in 2023, (2) and although droopy skin is associated with Ozempic, it can occur after any form of medically-assisted weight loss. Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)
A BBL is a body contouring procedure for enhancing the shape and size of a person’s buttocks. During the procedure, your surgeon will harvest fat from one area of your body with liposuction and inject it into your buttocks for a fuller, curvier look. If you have pockets of excess fat on the abdomen, thighs, or flanks, you can use the fat to improve the appearance of your buttocks. The procedure can also help you improve your proportions, increase your self-confidence, and achieve a more youthful appearance because it accentuates your natural curves.
Skinny BBL
A Skinny BBL can balance your proportions if you have a more petite frame. During the procedure, your surgeon will transfer a smaller amount of fat to your buttocks to help you achieve your ideal body shape. We can harvest fat from multiple areas of the body instead of collecting a larger amount from the thighs and abdomen. The result is a natural, more subtle volume increase for a fuller, curvier appearance.
Brazilian Butt Lift Benefits
A Brazilian butt lift has several benefits, including:
- Balanced body proportions: Reshaping your buttocks by improving their volume can help you achieve a more aesthetically pleasing silhouette based on your preferences.
- Increased confidence: Improving the appearance of your buttocks can help you increase your self-esteem. You can also enjoy feeling more comfortable in your clothing.
- Customizable procedure: We can customize the procedure for your needs and help you rebalance your proportions based on your body type.
- Fuller, curvier buttocks: You can achieve fuller, curvier buttocks by harnessing the power of your own fat.
- Natural-looking results: Increasing the size of your buttocks with a fat transfer can help you achieve a more natural look compared to synthetic implants.
- Smoother figure: Removing unwanted fat with liposuction provides the additional benefit of sculpting your body and increasing the size of your buttocks simultaneously.
- Long-lasting results: If you take good care of your body, your results can last for many years, especially if you eat healthy meals and exercise regularly.
- Quick recovery time: You can return to your normal routine after a few weeks and enjoy a fuller, curvier body with a natural shape.
Brazilian Butt Lift Candidates
Suitable candidates for a BBL would like to improve the shape of their buttocks and increase their size with a fat transfer for a natural-looking result. You must have sufficient body fat to harvest for a fat transfer and be in overall good health without any underlying medical conditions that affect your ability to undergo anesthesia. If you are a nonsmoker and willing to maintain a healthy lifestyle, you are likely a good candidate for the procedure. Exercising regularly and eating healthy meals will be important for maintaining your results. However, you must have realistic expectations about the outcomes of your procedure. We can discuss your body goals in depth during your consultation to determine if the procedure can help you achieve your desired look.
Personal Consultation
During your consultation, Dr. Andan can help you create a treatment plan for reaching your aesthetic goals. Please come to your appointment prepared to discuss your medical history and current medications if you are taking any. We may take photos, and if you have examples of the results you would like to achieve, please bring them with you to your appointment. You will need to have realistic expectations about the procedure and what we can accomplish. We can perform a physical exam to determine the best location to harvest excess fat. Please come prepared to ask any questions you have about the procedure.
Preparation
To prepare for an Ozempic butt treatment, you will need to:
- Stop taking blood thinners (including herbal supplements and NSAIDs)
- Cease smoking for several weeks before and after the procedure
- Arrange for someone you trust to drive you home from the procedure
- Take time off work to recover and rest so your body can heal
- Fill prescriptions for your recovery ahead of time
- Arrange for transportation to and from the procedure
You should arrive at your procedure in comfortable clothing that you can easily remove. Taking good care of your skin and avoiding sun exposure will also be important for achieving the best results.
Procedure
During your procedure, we will cleanse your skin and our anesthesiologist will place you under anesthesia. First, Dr. Andan will perform liposuction to harvest fat from the abdomen, hips, flanks, back or thighs. Small incisions will be made on designated donor sites, where excess fat will be harvested using a thin tube called a cannula. This area will be carefully suctioned to obtain the desired amount of fat. The addition of tumescent fluid can reduce pain and cause the fat cells to swell for easy removal. The gathered fat will then be processed to separate damaged or dead fat cells, leaving only viable fat ready for reinjection. Dr. Andan will then strategically inject the fat into various regions of the buttocks to achieve the desired shape and volume. Your procedure can take between 3-5 hours, depending on the amount of fat you would like to transfer.
Recovery & Results
Recovery from a BBL can take several weeks but will depend on your specific circumstances. You will experience temporary swelling, bruising, and discomfort during the first week or two of your recovery. You will need to avoid sitting directly on your buttocks to allow the transferred fat to settle. Most patients return to light activities within a week, although full-scale exercise should be postponed for several weeks. Patience during the healing time is essential, as individuals notice results continue to improve as swelling subsides and the fat settles into the newly formed contours.
After a BBL, you can enjoy smoother, firmer, fuller buttocks and more balanced body proportions. Many patients notice that the curve of their lower back is more defined, and removing excess fat with liposuction can help them achieve a more athletic, toned body. If you exercise regularly and eat healthy meals, you can enjoy natural-looking and long-lasting results.
Post-Ozempic Body Contouring
After weight loss, it is common to experience sagging skin on other areas of the body, not just the buttocks. Post-Ozempic body contouring treatments can help you improve your figure further. Many weight loss patients are not prepared for the amount of excess skin they will experience after weight changes, and it often occurs in areas they did not expect it to. (3) Patients commonly experience sagging skin on the face, arms, thighs, and pubic area that affects their self-esteem. We can combine a BBL with other body contouring procedures to help you restore your figure after weight changes and achieve a firmer, more toned appearance.
