Breast augmentation recovery is different for each woman, but there are some things everyone can do to have a quicker and more comfortable recovery.
Contents
1. Take It Easy
It’s important not to do too much during your breast augmentation recovery period. Most women are able to return to work after only a few days, but more time may be needed in some cases.
- Avoid strenuous activity and only sleep on your back for as long as Dr. Andan recommends.
- Recruit friends and family to help with chores, and take good care of yourself.
- Eat well and get plenty of rest to give your body it’s best chance at a fast recovery.
2. Stay out of the Sun
Above all else, follow the aftercare instructions Dr. Andan gives you.
Part of your breast augmentation recovery is caring for your scars. Exposure to sunlight can cause scars to appear more prominent, so stay out of the sun for as long as Dr. Andan advises.
After that, always apply sunscreen to your scars if they will be exposed to sunlight.
3. Dress the Part
Take advantage of specialized garments that can support your breast augmentation recovery. Compression wear, surgical bras and specialty vests or wraps are available.
Talk to Dr. Andan about what you can wear to help keep you comfortable and provide gentle, safe support while you heal.
4. Follow Your Post-Op Instructions
Take your medications as prescribed and don’t try to do too much, too soon. You can seriously compromise your results by ignoring any of your recovery guidelines. When in doubt, give Dr. Andan a call and ask.
